The Onimaru (鬼丸 Onimaru?, Ogre Rounder) (also known as Kali Blade in the SNES/PS version) is a weapon in Chrono Trigger and is Crono's fifteenth-level katana. It has an attack power of 150 and a base critical hit rate of 20%.
In-battle, the sword's sprite color (blue-silver-white) is shared the Silver Sword, Thunder Blade, Primeval Blade, Slasher, Slasher II and Rainbow. However, its slashing trail is a unique pale-gray jagged line formation that expands like a ripple (akin to a water splash).

It can be found at the Northern Ruins in a sealed chest in the Middle Ages. If the chest is opened in the Present, the item has upgraded into the Suzaku. After the Suzaku has been acquired, one can still travel back in time and collect the Onimaru.
Etymology[]
Historically, Onimaru is the name of a famous Japanese katana. Regarded as a great treasure, it is also one of the "Five Swords under Heaven". Onimaru literally translates to "Ogre Rounder", with "maru" being a common suffix for Japanese male names.
Kali (short for Kalika) on the other hand, is the Hindu goddess of time, creation, power and destruction. The theme naming matches with the original SNES/PSX port name of its upgraded version, the Shiva Edge (Shiva being another Hindu deity).
